Colin the proprietor of “The Finishing Touch”motorcycle paintwork specialists has over 30 years experience of working  in the car and classic motorcycle paintwork refinishing trade having  restored many of his own & customers classic cars and motorcycles  including a Rudge Dayton, Brough superiors Vincent's SS100 and many modern & classic  Japanese machines.

Colin has specialised in motorcycle paintwork  for many years and are established leaders in modern, vintage or classic motorcycle paint refinishing since 1988. We have built up an enviable reputation as experts in concourse standard modern, classic, and vintage motorcycle painting. Examples of our high quality work have graced numerous concourse-winning machines during the past  years, and have achieved many accolades including the 2005 classic bike of the year award winner a (Norton dominator), and was also runner up in 2010! with a superb BSA Shooting Star

The Finishing Touch has had many of our finished bikes featured in motorcycle magazine articles including ( front cover & center page spread of classic motorcycle magazine with a 1915 Indian BV twin) and has completed  work for numerous prestigious motorcycle museums. Colin was also one of the founder members of the Battles bridge classic Motorcycle museum in Essex.

What can we do


Tank repairs, classic vintage & modern motorcycle paintwork, sandblasting, chroming, motorcycle paint designs, motorcycle spray paint, colour matching, lining, transfer fixing, wheel`s painted, lined etc.  

All parts are blasted back to bare metal to remove old paint and rust, any necessary repairs are then carried out (rust, dents, pitting etc.), all parts are acid etch primed, then grey primed, painted, lacquered and hand finished with care for that very special " Finished Touch".

Colour Matching

We can get all colors matched to your original motorcycle paintwork, and we carry many original colours in stock for vintage to modern motorcycles.

Transfer Fixing

The Finishing Touch is pleased to recommend Bob & Marcia Derrick from Classic Transfers
for both water slide and Vinyl transfers.

Paint Lining

Hand paint lining (pin lining ) of petrol & oil tanks mudguards / wheels etc..we have 100`s of original templates for the correct location of pin lining and transfers.
